Island Born: Greenview Taphouse to Open at Fairwinds Golf Club
Comforting fare and the best of BC’s wine and beer
collide in a home-away-from-home
Get set to raise a glass to the good life as Greenview Taphouse, a vibrant new casual dining destination celebrating the best of Vancouver Island food and drink, announces its opening in summer 2025.
Located at the renowned Fairwinds Golf Club in Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island’s newest culinary spot is more than just a place to eat; it’s a warm, flexible space designed to bring people together, with BC’s breathtaking Pacific Coast as the backdrop. From playful neon signage and vintage memorabilia to local artist murals of West Coast icons like the Vancouver Steam Clock and a cheeky crab poised for a feast, the space captures the joy of celebration and nostalgia.
Greenview Taphouse is inspired by the magic of a moment, golden hour light spilling across a post-game table or a cool drink after a day on the trails. The heart of the restaurant is a menu built on comfort, craft, and community, guided by a passion for incredible food, championing Canadian ingredients. A familiar and inventive menu features elevated takes on timeless favourites, reimagined with bold flavours and thoughtful technique. That same local-first philosophy shapes their approach to sourcing by partnering with nearby farms, suppliers, and artisans.
With a carefully curated menu, a deep bench of local taps, and a seamless indoor-outdoor atmosphere, Greenview Taphouse is the perfect place for those fresh off the green or enjoying a dinner with friends. Built around sharing, savouring, and the joy of good company, guests are invited to enjoy Roman-style pizzas such as the Hang Loose (pork, pickled jalapeño, pineapple) and Taco Tuesday (spiced beef, chipotle crema, pico de gallo) alongside the Smash Burger and Classic Clubhouse. The experience rounds out with indulgent desserts, including Chocolate Brownie Split, and a beverage program of 20+ rotating taps, curated BC wines, and house-crafted cocktails, showcasing the best the province has to offer.
From the team behind Moments Hospitality Collective, Greenview Taphouse is brought to life by longtime leaders in the Vancouver Island hospitality scene. Co-founder and COO, Eli Brennan, leads the project alongside Operating Partner Todd Bright, recognizable as Vancouver Island Regional Chef of Qualicum Beach Cafe, Nanoose Bay Cafe, and Deez Bar and Grill. Alongside are Marketing and Communications Manager, Kaitlyn Brennan, and Nanoose Bay Area Operations Manager, Lynsee Yee, bringing to life a vision where high-quality, locally inspired food meets genuine hospitality.
“We didn’t just set out to open a restaurant; we wanted to create a space that acts as a second living room,” says Eli Brennan, co-founder and COO of Greenview Taphouse. “Being from the island, it was important to build something for the community, where neighbours, friends, and families come to slow down, raise a glass and stay a while.”
Set against the lush scenery of the Pacific Northwest, the 250-person space transitions seamlessly from indoor to outdoor, featuring a large, airy patio and multiple event areas. Inside features vintage-inspired parquet floors, a games room, and a cozy event space with windows boasting sweeping water views.
