Growing Chefs Marks 20th Anniversary with Gala Kitchen Party Bringing Together
Local Chefs, Growers and Producers to Raise Funds for Registered Charity

Growing Chefs is marking its 20thanniversary by announcing it will host the 15th annual edition of its signature From Farms to Forks kitchen party and gala fundraiser at the A-OK Cafe at the Aritzia Head Office in Railtown, Vancouver (118, 611 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1E1) on Sunday, October 5.

During the gala, the local charity will bring together local chefs, growers and producers to showcase tasting plates and beverage pairings and feature a live and silent auction with the aim of raising $150,000 to support its programs that provide nutritious food, learning and connection for children, youth and families throughout the Lower Mainland.

A roster of all-star local chefs, bartenders and restaurateurs are slated to take part in the event, including Meeru Dhalwala and Shira Blustein (Lila), Claire Livia Lassam and Jordan Pires (Livia), Wayne Kozinka (Aritzia’s A-OK Café), Jesse McCleery and Melanie Witt (Pilgrimme), Lucais Syme (Autostrada), Andrea Carlson (Burdock & Co), Amelie and Vincent Nguyen (Anh and Chi), Matt Gostelow (The Acorn) and Bruno Feldeisen (Food Network), among others. The event will be emceed by Fred Lee and Margaret Gallagher with live music provided by Josephine Choi and the Leo Raymundo Jazz Trio.

“We’re thrilled that so many people have signed on to help us celebrate two major milestones for our organization,” says Growing Chefs Founder and Chair Merri Schwartz. “We’ve got an exciting night planned and look forward to uniting so many talented people from our local food and beverage scene to raise funds to help us continue our mission to connect chefs, kids and communities and foster systemic change towards      sustainable and just food practices.”
