Celebrate the Year of the Horse at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Celebrate the Year of the Horse with Lunar New Year
Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

A limited-time afternoon tea experience blending festive flavours,
cultural storytelling, and local artistry

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver welcomes the Lunar New Year with a limited-time Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea, thoughtfully curated to celebrate the Year of the Horse. Available throughout the Lunar New Year season, the experience blends traditional afternoon tea with vibrant flavours inspired by festive Lunar New Year customs.

Symbolizing strength, vitality, and prosperity, the Year of the Horse is reflected in a menu that balances bold, rich notes with refined sweetness. Highlights include fragrant Jasmine Earl Grey scones, alongside savoury offerings such as Szechuan-glazed prawn toast and char siu-inspired salmon mi-cuit with bright yuzu accents. The sweet course features a sesame miso biscuit, mandarin sago pudding, and elegant pastries finished with gold accents to symbolize good fortune.

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is proud to once again partner with the Chinatown Storytelling Centre, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Vancouver’s Chinatown. This meaningful collaboration adds depth to the Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea experience, inviting guests to further connect with traditions, history, and significance of the holiday though a visit to the Centre. As part of the partnership, an exclusive tea blend created by the Chinatown Storytelling Centre in collaboration with TEALEAVES will be featured on the menu, offering guests a flavourful expression of this shared cultural story.

The tea room is adorned with a custom Year of the Horse illustration by Vancouver-based artist Justine Crawford, adding a distinctive local and artistic touch. To further mark the celebration, five lucky guests will receive special Lucky Gifts, including a Foo Hung Curios prize bundle and Sip & Paint tickets with the artist herself.

On Lunar New Year, February 17, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will treat guests to a vibrant Lion Dance performance by Hon Hsing Athletic Club, taking place throughout the lobby and Notch8 Restaurant. Afternoon tea will also be available on this special day.

This limited-time Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea will be available Thursday to Sunday from January 9 to February 22, 2026. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online.
