Butterfly Run Vancouver Returns October 3

Butterfly Run 2026:

Supporting Families through Community and Compassion

The Butterfly Support Network is set to host its annual memorial Butterfly Run Vancouver on October 3rd, 2026, at Olympic Village Square. This heartfelt event aims to create a supportive environment for bereaved parents and to raise awareness about the challenges many families face, including infertility, pregnancy loss, TFMR, and infant loss.

Butterfly Support Network, a registered charity, has made it its mission to provide a platform for families to come together, share their stories, and find solace in a community that understands their journey. With over 1000 participants, volunteers, and vendors expected, this year’s Butterfly Run promises to be a significant step forward in fostering empathy, support, and understanding within the BC communities. Being a bereaved parent is a path that no one should walk alone.

Lisa Seidel, Run Director and Chair of The Butterfly Run Vancouver, shared her personal motivation for the event: “In 2021, my husband John and I faced the heartbreaking pregnancy loss of our identical twin girls, Molly and Annie. Feeling alone and desperate for connection, I stumbled on a blog post from Butterfly Run where someone shared a similar personal experience. From there, I connected with other families who experienced loss and eventually decided to get involved in the charity. The connection I found with Butterfly Run was the start of my healing journey and is my way of continuing to honour the sweet babies that I’ll forever hold in my heart.”

The Butterfly Run is not just a memorial walk/run; it is a powerful expression of community solidarity. By participating, individuals can honour the babies gone too soon, hold hope for the children to come, and support others who are experiencing similar journeys.

The funds raised from the memorial Run/Walk will support various initiatives including community connection events, peer support groups, group counseling, individual counseling, and the distribution of bereavement boxes to local hospitals.
