Launches Six-Part “Meet the Otters” Series
Think you could tell one sea otter from another? You’re not alone! One of the questions Vancouver Aquarium staff hear most often is: How do you tell all the rescued sea otters apart?
Just in time for Sea Otter Awareness Week, the Vancouver Aquarium is inviting the public to get to know its six resident rescued sea otters in a new six-part series highlighting what makes each otter unique — from their personalities and quirks to the features that help staff tell them apart.
Launching this week, the series will introduce one or more otters in each installment, giving the public an insider’s guide to the individual personalities behind the adorable faces. Guests are encouraged to follow along on the Vancouver Aquarium social media channels throughout the week to meet all six otters.
First up: the youngsters! Meet Tofino and Luna, the two youngest of the Vancouver Aquarium’s otters. Both were rescued in June 2024 and have quickly become familiar faces to Aquarium guests.
So, can you spot the difference between Tofino and Luna? Follow along this Sea Otter Awareness Week to find out — and by the end of the series, you’ll be an otter-identification expert!
