Good Thief steals your heart with a flavour adventure in bygone Saigon.
ABOUT THIS VISA INFINITE DINING SERIES EXPERIENCE
Good Thief is a chic, modern, cocktail-forward Vietnamese restaurant from the team at beloved Anh and Chi. But memories of a luxurious past are never far away. This dinner commemorates “bygone Saigon,” where the food is bright and flavourful, the décor stylish and fun, and the elevated cocktails crafted by bar star Ben Kingstone take you on a flavour journey around Southeast Asia (the pho-flavoured one is truly a game-changer. Chef Jonathan Lee’s menu features inventive dishes that nod to Vietnamese tradition but are not beholden to it—think crispy frog legs glazed in fish sauce or halibut in a dill and turmeric soubise. Joining him for this exceptional evening, paired with mouthwateringWoodford Reserve cocktails, is Chef Kevin Tien of Washington DC’s acclaimed Moon Rabbit. Since opening last summer, Good Thief has been the place to be in Vancouver, and this dinner shows cardholders exactly why.
ABOUT GOOD THIEF
Brother-sister team Vincent Nguyễn and Amelie Thuy Nguyễn are renowned in Vancouver for their Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant next door, Anh and Chi. Now they’ve introduced the rebellious little brother, Good Thief, a terrific little cocktail bar that celebrates the Vietnamese culture of sharing food, drink, and banter known as “nhậu.” In the talented hands of Chef de Cuisine Jonathan Lee (formerly of Blue Water Cafe) and Beverage Director Ben Kingstone (formerly of Mother in Toronto and a World Class Canada finalist 2023), Good Thief reinterprets the timeless flavours and memories of Vietnam with luxurious cocktails and experimental share plates.
ABOUT MOON RABBIT
While earning a master’s degree in business intelligence and analytics from Louisiana State University, Kevin Tien worked his way up the ranks of Tsunami, a Japanese restaurant in Louisiana. After graduating, his career took him to Washington, DC where he eventually opened his own restaurant, Himitsu, and landed on Food & Wine Magazine’s coveted list of the 10 Best New Chefs in 2018. In 2024, Tien opened Moon Rabbit in the heart of DC, where his cooking style reflects his Vietnamese heritage, his upbringing in Cajun country, and his training in modern Japanese fine dining. In 2024, Chef Tien was a finalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic region. Beverage Director Thi Nguyen recently received the 2024 Michelin Exceptional Cocktails Award.
