Film Synopsis

Accidentally brought back to life on Halloween night in modern-day Salem, three seventeenth-century witches known as the Sanderson sisters, attempt to steal the life essence from the town’s children so they can have eternal life. They are outwitted by the clever Max Dennison, his little sister, Dani, his girlfriend, Allison, and aided by Thackery Binx, who had been changed into a cat centuries earlier for interfering with the witches. Released on July 16, 1993, and directed by Kenny Ortega, the film stars Bette Midler (Winifred), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah), Kathy Najimy (Mary), Omri Katz (Max), Thora Birch (Dani), and Vinessa Shaw (Allison). Emmy Award®-winning and GRAMMY® Award-nominated composer John Debney created the score for Disney’s Halloween comedy film, Hocus Pocus.
