TAUPE TUESDAY RETURNS TO VANCOUVER OPERA
Vancouver Opera Celebrates Canadian Thanksgiving and
the Arts with Taupe Tuesday
Vancouver Opera announces the return of Taupe Tuesday. For the third year, arts lovers have an opportunity to experience world-class opera at a reduced price. Playfully named as a post-Thanksgiving, north-of-the-49th counterpoint to Black Friday, Taupe Tuesday reflects the creativity that Vancouver Opera has fostered during its 67-year history, while highlighting VO’s continued commitment to making live opera more accessible to more people.
“Taupe Tuesday has provided accessibly priced tickets for the last two seasons, and we knew that we wanted to bring this program back again this year,” says Tom Wright, General Director of Vancouver Opera. “This program is an excellent way for us to introduce opera to new audiences who may have otherwise not purchased a ticket. Taupe Tuesday deals this season are 50% off A+ to D seats for Tosca on Thursday, October 29; The Barber of Seville on Thursday, February 18; and La Traviata on Thursday, April 29.”
Vancouver Opera’s blockbuster 2026–2027 season is the perfect time to experience three of opera’s most cherished works. Opening with the white-hot intensity of Puccini’s Tosca in October/November 2026, followed by the buzzing comedic energy of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville in February 2027, the season will conclude in grand style with Verdi’s beloved La Traviata in April/May 2027.
Adds Wright, “whether you’re a lifelong opera aficionado, or someone looking to experience your very first show, Taupe Tuesday provides the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in an unforgettable artistic journey with these special deals.”
All Taupe Tuesday deals will be available online at Vancouver Opera’s official website, through the box office, or by phone, starting on October 13 until Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm.
