VUW announces three new Okanagan grown, Railtown made wines
Vancouver Urban Winery (VUW) and its newly-announced Wine Director, David Stansfield, are pleased to launch a summer series of small lot wines made in-house from 100% Okanagan grapes by Winemaker, Kelly Symonds, and Associate Winemaker, Lynzee Schatz.
Specially conceived for warm weather sipping and savouring, the small-lot series spans the length and breadth of the Okanagan region, consisting of a Merlot, a Pinot Gris and VUW’s first-ever Rosé.
VUW Merlot ($19) | Production: 400 cases
This no-fuss blend of fruit from the north and south Okanagan brings the best of both to the table: red fruit and freshness from Naramata’s Three Mile Vineyard and dark fruit and muscle from Osoyoos’ Kismet Vineyard.
VUW Pinot Gris ($17) | Production: 400 cases
A 100% stainless steel-aged combination of fruit from Naramata’s Three Mile Vineyard and Oliver’s Stoneboat Estate Vineyard, this exceptional Pinot Gris boasts pure fruit flavours of ripe apricot, pear and lemon.
VUW Rosé ($17) | Production: 200 cases
The inaugural vintage of VUW Rosé! Made from fruit grown in the calcium-rich soil of the iconic Sperling Estate Vineyard and based on the Provence-style of dry rosé. Pale salmon colour gives way to notes of fresh strawberry and grapefruit with a clean, crisp finish that’s distinctly B.C.
All three summer wines are available exclusively at Vancouver Urban Winery’s boutique, located inside The Settlement Building (55 Dunlevy Ave.), 11am to 11pm weekdays, 10am to 11pm weekends.
