Pacific Breeze AssaZin Release

Look out! Pacific Breeze, New Westminster’s urban winery, has just released their latest AssasZin vintage. The grapes for this Zinfandel wine come from Lake County in northern California and it is delicious.

People who dropped by for this latest tasting were treated to four tastings, their ‘I Can’t Remember’ white blend, the Reserve Chardonnay, an oak forward California style Chardonnay and one of my favourites, their Big Red, a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre and the featured AssaZin.

Pacific Breeze never fails to attract a crowd with their release tastings and many who are still not familiar with the winery sign up for their wine club after sampling their wines.

Winemakers Devon Stewart and Dylan Hamilton were there, pouring the wines and answering people’s questions. Owner Maurice Hamilton was also in attendance welcoming guests and sharing the latest news from Pacific Breeze.

Racks of oak barrels lined the room and tags displayed what they held – Syrah from Sagemoor Vineyards, Chardonnay from Sangiacomo, Obsidian Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon as well as their more recent venture into BC grapes with their Merlot from Kaleden.

If you haven’t discovered this local treasure, do yourself a favour and drop by to taste their fabulous award winning wines.
