Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria partners with Mealshare to fight youth hunger during the holiday season

 

Famoso and Mealshare team up once again to feed thousands with annual Campania Tomato Sauce campaign, November 15-December 31, 2016

 

Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria is announcing the much-anticipated return of its Campania Tomato Sauce jars for the holiday season. For the fourth year in a row, Famoso will sell its authentic Campania Tomato Sauce at all 28 restaurants in partnership with Mealshare. Until December 31, 2016,  one meal will be provided to a young person in need for every jar of Campania sauce purchased, right in the community in which the sauce was sold.

“We’re thrilled to announce the return of our Campania Tomato Sauce in partnership with Mealshare to provide meals for youth in need,” says Justin Lussier, chief executive officer and co-founder of Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria. “Mealshare is an important partner for Famoso, and our holiday campaign is only one example of our continued relationship. Over the years, we’ve been able to make a difference in the lives of so many in need, thanks to our partnership with their team and the generosity of our guests.”

Mealshare’s mission is to enable and inspire people to join the fight to end youth hunger. Last year’s Campania Tomato Sauce sales provided 16,761 meals to in-need youth across Western Canada and Ontario. Since Campania Tomato Sauce sales began in 2013, nearly 16,000 jars of sauce have been purchased to support 17 local communities in which Famoso operates.

Made from only the finest vine-ripened plum tomatoes, hand-picked from the rich soils of Mount Vesuvius in Naples, Famoso’s Campania Tomato Sauce is hand-milled and jarred to capture authentic Neapolitan flavour. Available only once a year during the holiday season, Campania Tomato Sauce retails for $8 per 500mL jar at all 28 Famoso locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
