with Vancouver’s Inaugural Curry Cup 
Eight of Vancouver’s Top Chefs to Compete
On Tuesday, March 4eight of Vancouver’s top chefs will compete to win the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia’s Curry Cup.
This inaugural event will be held at Main Street’s Heritage Hall and emceed byVancouver’s ‘Man About Town’, Fred Lee, while a distinguished panel of judges including Angus An (chef/owner of Longtail and Maenam restaurants), Jeff Hamada(Japanese Canadian artist/creator of Boooooom), Joie Alvaro Kent (food writer and restaurant award judge), Mijune Pak(founder of Follow Me Foodie and food columnist for the WE Vancouver) and Mike Bernardo (Director of Operations/Wine Director at Vij’s) will choose the winner.
 
In many kitchens around the world, cooks partake in a daily ritual called staff meal; one dish that’s universally enjoyed is curry. The Curry Cup will showcase eight chefs who are well known for their culinary skill and passion but not particularly noted for cooking curry. This event was created in the spirit of bringing local chefs together through healthy competition and camaraderie for the public to enjoy.

Tickets for the Curry Cup are $59 and include eight unique international currieshighlighting diverse flavours from around the world; B.C. wine from Mt. BoucherieDirty Laundry and Perseuscraft beer from R&B Brewing Co. and Steamworks Brewery; and an innovative non-alcoholic cocktail from celebrity mixologist, Lauren Mote of Bittered Sling Extracts.
 
All proceeds from the Curry Cup will go to the Chefs’ Table Society of B.C. to support their various scholarships and charitable partners including Growing Chefs – Chefs for Children’s Urban Agriculture, who will be presented with a cheque at the event.
