Come and celebrate the best of Arts, Crafts and Music from across Canada this BC Day long weekend August 1-4, 2014 in Comox!  The 2014 Festival will showcase over 130 artisans and makers of fine art in a variety of media ranging from metalwork, pottery, toys, woodcrafts, jewellery, paintings, glass, textiles and specialty foods.

This year the Festival is thrilled to feature local artist Tracy Kobus as the guest artist.  Tracy lives in the Comox Valley and her acrylic paintings give a thoughtful perspective on the connection between humans’ and nature. Her work, now in collections world-wide, is available at the Comox Valley Art Gallery Gift Shop and various events throughout the year. www.tracykobus.com.

The Filberg Festival has always been known for its great entertainment and this year is sure to exceed expectations with such performers as: Royal Wood, Ken Lavigne, Jesse Peters, Tiller’s Folly, David Gogo, Phil Dwyer and many more. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase starting July 1 at the Filberg Lodge and Rattan Plus Home & Patio in Courtenay as well as during the Festival.  A $10.00 ticket or 3 for $20.00 gives you the opportunity to win one of seven amazing prizes:  two return tickets anywhere WestJet flies, two return flights on Harbour Air from Comox to Vancouver and two night’s accommodation  at the Hotel Le Soleil in Vancouver, an original Brett Varney painting, two hand crafted willow Diamond Back garden chairs by Willow Way, a carved original piece by Westcoast Chainsaw Artists, a rattan side table and lamp from Rattan Plus Home & Patio and coffee for a year from Royston Roasting.

Gate admission is charged at the Filberg Festival, as it is the primary fundraiser for the not-for-profit organization which has the responsibility of repairing and maintaining the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park’s property and buildings (www.filberg.com). Advance tickets are available online at www.filbergfestival.com, the Vancouver Island Visitor Centre,  Arizona Gifts in the Comox Mall,  I-Hos Gallery  and all Vancouver Island Thrifty Foods locations. Four day passes are also available. Festival hours are 10am to 6pm Friday thru Sunday and 10am to 5pm on Monday.

As parking is limited at the Filberg Heritage Lodge & Park and surrounding residential area we are encouraging people to walk, cycle, use public transit or take advantage of the Park & Ride service. Shuttle service from 1475 Noel Avenue will be provided by Ambassador Shuttle Service for a suggested $2.00 donation.  The Comox Valley Cycling Coalition will also be onsite with their bike lock-up.

Set amongst the stately trees and gardens of the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park in Comox, BC on the east coast of Vancouver Island the Filberg Festival is truly a unique event.
