1966 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE TO BE AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY
The rare ’66 Satellite was originally donated to A&W by an anonymous benefactor on the condition that the car would be sold to benefit the MS Society of Canada. Since then, a collection of fantastic auto repair and service shops teamed up to restore the car to pristine condition. Still Creek Collision and Villa Automotive in Burnaby, Hot Rods & Classics in Chilliwack, B&W Metal Cleaners in Coquitlam, Atomic Plating in Mission, Broco Auto Glass – Newton and Chase Auto Body Supplies in Surrey, and Automotive Styling Centre in Vancouver together contributed over $10,000 worth of parts and labour to this fantastic cause.
The vehicle features a superbly restored number-matching Chrysler 383 V8 engine that produces a heart-pounding 400 horsepower, as well as a Chrysler TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission and 2.5 inch dual exhaust. The bodywork was finished with a vintage A&W Orange exterior and an exquisitely re-upholstered interior.
Aside from the ’66 Satellite, nearly 150 vehicles will be crossing the auction block throughout the weekend, including eight ultra rare vehicles in the first ever duPont series. With motorcycle stunt demonstrations, a special performance by the Heart tribute band Barracuda, and plenty of other activities and entertainment, there’s something for everyone at the second annual Vancouver Collector Car Show & Auction.
