Garnet red in colour with medium-deep intensity. Blackberry, cherry, black currant and a hint of spice on the nose. Good balance. Blackberry dominates the other fruit – red cherry, cassis, plum – on the palate. A medium-long finish. Good now and will improve for another five or more years. This Rosé is more like a Spanish Rosado with its medium-deep candy apple red colour. Perhaps this is to be expected from a winery with Portuguese heritage. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Viognier. Red berries, cherry and red currant aromas on the nose. Good balance. Currant flavours dominate the red fruit on the palate and carries through on the palate. Serve this wine on the patio with a plate of charcuterie, BBQ’d chicken or pork skewers. Also give it a try at turkey time.
