Over 50 local artists to participate in the 2nd Annual Parker Art Salon April 22nd to the April 24th at 1000 Parker Street Studios, Vancouver

The labyrinth halls of the 98 year old warehouse building will transform to host a weekend long salon and fine art exhibition for the public

 

The legendary 1000 Parker Street Studios artist’s warehouse is inviting the general public to join their 2^nd annual Parker Art Salon and Fine Art Exhibition, April 22 – 24, 2016.  The salon events will be hosted on two floors with the hallways transformed into an exposition of painting, sculpture and installation pieces:  57 artists showcasing their best work steps away from their studios. 

 

Infusing aspects of the original Paris salons, the Parker Art Salon and Fine Art Exhibition will see discussions of art, live music and entertainment. Friday evening offers an elegant Opening Reception including live music and a bar. Saturday and Sunday afternoons offer artist demonstrations, classes (for all levels of artists) and a sneak peek at artist studios.  

 

Friday will also see a DAREarts youth education fundraiser and art sale.  A DAREarts wall will be dedicated to smaller art pieces, all priced under $200.  50% of the proceeds will be earmarked towards DAREarts Vancouver programming.

Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – workshops and live painting throughout the days

1000 Parker Street Studios is the largest artist based workspace and community in the Lower Mainland.  Home to 200 artists, 1000 Parker Street Studios houses painters, sculptors, milliners, furniture builders and shoe makers.
