Realwheels’ SexyVoices to Explore Sexuality and Disability to Shatter Sterotypes

Sex. Disability. Those two words are rarely seen together in a sentence, let alone talked about. Award-winning professional theatre company Realwheels Theatre is determined to change our perspective when it presents SexyVoices – A Burlesque Theatre Cabaret  May 12-14. This community-based performance will showcase members of the disability community in performances that are designed to break down the stigma surrounding sexuality and disability. Incorporating storytelling and burlesque, SexyVoices is an expression of joyfulness and self-discovery, that celebrates and accepts everyone and everyBODY!

Directed by award-winning Rachel Peake with burlesque choreography by
Jenny Magenta and costumes by Jenna Erickson, SexyVoices is produced by Rena Cohen. Realwheels Theatre received the 2015 City of Vancouver Award of
Excellence (accessibility) and incorporates mentorships for people with disabilities
in all of their programming.

Tickets for SexyVoices are pay-what-you-can and can be purchased online at:
www.sexyvoices.bpt.me. All three performances start at 8pm May 12-14 at The Roundhouse Performance Centre 181 Roundhouse Mews (Corner of Davie & Pacific).
