The terrible fires in northern Alberta have given everyone a heavy heart. However, sometimes a little laughter can help ease the pain. Vancouver TheatreSports™ League (VTSL) believes in giving back. Wednesday (May 11) will be dedicated to raising funds for the Canadian Red Cross’ Alberta Fires Appeal. Net proceeds from the ticket sales of TheatreSports and Off Leash that night will be donated to the fund.
In addition, the cast will pass the hat at all 11 performances during the week (May 11 – 15) to raise additional cash. All funds generated will go to The Canadian Red Cross.
“VTSL feels it is an important thing to do,” says VTSL Executive Director Jay Ono. “People across the country have been horrified by this disaster and we all want to help. The mother of one of our cast members lives in Fort McMurray and she was evacuated this week. We encourage others to support the cause.”
Tickets for the May 11th VTSL shows (at The Improv Centre on Granville Island) are available online at vtsl.com.
