Give It Up at the Vancouver Fringe Festival

I thought moderate success would be a lot more glamorous…

Give It Up is the Vancouver Fringe Festival premiere of comedian Morgan Brayton’s new one-person show. After toiling away for almost 30 years in film & tv, theatre and comedy, Brayton is questioning whether this is really the life she’d imagined forherself. Where is her husband Scott Baio? When is SNL going to call? What happened to her big break? Did she miss it? Is this it? Will there be snacks?

Brayton weaves decades of performing experiences and anecdotes, career highs and lows, and the quitting and subsequent returning to the industry (three times to date), into a personal and hilarious one-hour comedy show. Give It Up mixes true stories from Brayton’s career with portrayals of outlandish but loveable characters that have become Brayton’s trademark.

The Canadian Comedy Award nominee and Vancouver Fringe Fest Critic’s Choice Award winner teams up again with Shawn Macdonald (Bright Blue Future, Ask for Details) who directed Brayton’s last show, Raccoonery! and is no stranger to these questions himself.
