75TH PEARL HARBOR NAMES RAYCOM MEDIA ‘PRODUCER OF RECORD’ FOR COMMEMORATION, DVIDS AVAILABLE FOR STORY CONTENT

 

The 75th Pearl Harbor Commemoration has announced that Raycom Media / Hawaii News Now (KGMB and KHNL) will be the ‘Producer of Record’ for the National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Commemoration at the USS Arizona Memorial on Wednesday, December 7th, beginning at 7:45 a.m. through 9:15 a.m. HST.

The live broadcast will be available via satellite on three (3) separate feeds:  Media Program Feed with lower thirds; Clean ISO Feed; and Produced Program Feed with narration and lower third closed captioning.

Satellite coordinates, further instructions and a Raycom Media point of contact will be communicated and released by mid-November and will also be posted on the official website:  www.PearlHarbor75thAnniversary.com.  The event will also be streamed online and hosted by HawaiiNewsNow.com.

There will be six other 75th Pearl Harbor events that Raycom Media will tape and upload to a designated internet site and become available as content for media features and stories:

* Dec. 6 – Blackened Canteen Ceremony, Freedom Bell Ringing, and USS Utah Memorial Ceremony.

*  Dec. 7 – Wreath Laying Ceremony, USS Oklahoma Ceremony, Double Interment at USS Arizona Memorial.

In addition, the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System (DVIDShub.net) will be the main source to find military-generated and owned still photography, video, print articles, and multi-media content for the 75th Pearl Harbor Commemoration.  We encourage your media staff to visit and register on the dvidshub.net website early and become familiar with accessing the materials needed and to download your preferred materials.

A detailed press release with more information from Raycom Media and DVIDS is expected to be released by mid-November.

Themed, “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” the 11 days of unprecedented events and   ceremonies will pay tribute to those who lost their lives, the survivors who endured hardship and pain, and the thousands who fought in WWII.  The last of the survivors who experienced that emotional awakening will be on O’ahu for the 75th Commemoration.

Centered around December 7th, National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the 75th Commemoration will focus the world’s attention on Hawai’i and provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience events and memorials dedicated to USS Utah, USS Oklahoma, and the USS Arizona.  A reception to honor Japanese American Veterans; Remember Pearl Harbor documentary premiere; ‘December 7th Remembered’ Gala Tribute; Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade; keynote speakers; live musical performances; five nights of Movies on Waikīkī Beach; and a world-class live concert are also planned.
