Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Gardens


Experience VanDusen Festival of Lights, a magical winter wonderland with over one million lights decorating VanDusen Botanical Garden open from December 1 to January 2. This year we’ve expanded the show and all tickets include a free ride on our new carousel! Stroll with friends and family through interactive themed areas, enjoy the famous Dancing Lights show on Livingstone Lake, look for roving Scandinavian gnomes and reindeer in the garden, light a candle at the Make-A-Wish candle grotto, take a photo with Santa, savour tasty treats and much more! Buy tickets online to save and skip the line.

What else can bring on more holiday cheer than a ride on a carousel amidst a beautifully lit setting. From grandkids to grandparents, it’s family fun for everyone. All tickets include a free ride on the carousel.

Dancing Lights on Livingstone Lake

Marvel at Vancouver’s most unique light show programmed to modern and classic festive tunes.




Jardins de Paris

Experience the romance of Paris right here in Vancouver. Stop by Eiffel Tower to take a selfie under the dazzling lights and share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #JardinsDeParis for a chance to win two tickets to Paris, courtesy of Air France and YVR.

Photos with Santa – December 1 to 24 from 5pm to 9pm


Families, kids and couples alike can take photos with Santa indoors beside Shaughnessy Restaurant

Look for roving Scandinavian Gnomes or Reindeer throughout the show!

December 16 and 17 – VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir will be performing in the Visitor Centre.


VPL Tales of a Winter’s Night

Families are invited to join the Vancouver Public Library for themed storytelling inside the glass house.


Make-A-Wish candle grotto

Make a donation to our charity partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and make a wish while you light a candle to fill this picturesque grotto.


Sound House

Let your kids have some fun making music with recycled instruments.
