Dine Out 2017: An Uncommon Pizza Class

January in Vancouver can only mean one thing. Full gyms. Ok, and Dine Out. I mean if you’re going to work that hard you may as well go eat at the cities finest! This year there’s a new kid on the block with a fresh idea. Off the Eaten Track, a food tour company in Vancouver, is pairing up with it’s Railtown partners to give you the cities first Dine Out Food Tour.

Your 2-hour adventure starts at The Uncommon Café for an Uncommon Pizza Class. The owners, Lisa & Luc Leimanis, will be opening up their kitchen to teach you Grandma Janzen’s basic dough recipe. You get to knead and roll your own pizza and while they bake hang-out in their eclectic and homey café.

“There’s something satisfying about kneading dough. Especially when eating your own fresh cooked pizza is the end product!” said Lisa Leimanis, owner of The Uncommon Café. “People love being in the kitchen for classes like this. You learn a bit, play with dough, eat a pizza and leave happy. That’s our job done!” she added.

Once your pizza is safely tucked away (in your belly) it’s onto stop two, Cadeaux Bakery, for some amazing baked treats. As you wander through one of the oldest areas in Vancouver the areas century old architecture will be pointed out and stories of the Japanese families that once thrived in this area will be re-lived. Stop three is a delicious meal at the very trendy Railtown Café, finally ending the tour at The Settlement building. Here you get 2 craft beer samples from Postmark Brewery and a wine sample from Vancouver Urban Winery.

The Uncommon Café invites you to check-out this amazing community oriented neighbour and, as always, looks forward to keeping your stomachs happy!
