Boulevard Brings Out the Best of BC with Wine Brunch during Dine Out Vancouver Festival and Explores ‘The Cool Climates of California’ as Part of Vancouver International Wine Festival
Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar Director of Operations and Sommelier Steve Edwards is pleased to announce a duo of exclusive wine events this February that will spotlight both homegrown and California vintners as part of the 2017 editions of Dine Out Vancouver and the Vancouver International Wine Festival.
EXPLORE BC WINE BRUNCH
On Saturday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m., brunch-loving oenophiles are invited to mix, mingle and share tasting notes for some of BC’s best wines while enjoying the celebrated cuisine of Boulevard Executive Chef and 2015 BC Gold Medal Plates Champion Alex Chen. The event takes place as part of the 2017 Dine Out Vancouver Festival, a 17-day celebration of food and drink that attracts more than 100,000 locals and visitors alike each year.
Jointly presented by Boulevard along with Wines of British Columbia, the Explore BC Wine Brunch will feature a stand-up, grazing format with seafood-focused canapés from Chen and team, along with wine stations from seven of the province’s top wineries: Arrowleaf Cellars, Haywire Winery, Church and State Wines, Howling Bluff Winery, St. Hubertus Estate & Oak Bay Estate Winery, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards and Tantalus Vineyards.
Tickets are $56.50 per person including tax, gratuity and ticketing fees and may be purchased online at www.dineoutvancouver.com/events/explore-bc-wine-brunch-boulevard.
‘COOL CLIMATES OF CALIFORNIA’ DINNER
On Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m., Boulevard will tip a glass to California and welcome Kendall-Jackson Winemaster Randy Ullom for a ‘Cool Climates of California’ dinner as part of the 39th annual Vancouver International Wine Festival, one of the biggest and oldest wine celebrations in North America.
The one-night-only event will pair the Sonoma Valley winery’s top varietals with a five-course feast prepared by Chen, who spent six years in the Golden State as executive chef at the legendary Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Ullom, who has been a fixture at the winery since 1992, will talk, taste and take guests on a personal tour of California’s cool, coastal appellations with a specific focus on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Attendees will be treated to a range of Kendall-Jackson’s top wines, including four of its Jackson Estate labels, a limited bottling collection that demonstrates the depth and complexity of the coastal California terroir.
Tickets are $175 per person including tax, gratuity and ticketing fees and may be purchased online at www.vanwinefest.ca/event/cool-climates-of-california.
