The terrible fires that have decimated parts of BC this past week have given everyone a heavy heart. However, sometimes a little laughter can help ease the pain. Vancouver TheatreSports (VTSL) believes in giving back.
This Wednesday (July 12) VTSL’s 9:15 pm TheatreSports show will be dedicated to raising funds for the Canadian Red Cross’ British Columbia Fires Appeal with net proceeds from the ticket sales being donated to that fund.
In addition, the cast will pass the hat at all 12 performances during this week (July 11 – 16) to raise additional cash. All funds generated will go to The Canadian Red Cross.
“VTSL feels it is an important thing to do,” says Executive Director Jay Ono. “People across the country have been horrified by this disaster and we all want to help. Two of our company have family who were evacuated from 100 Mile House last night. It is our hope that other arts companies will follow our lead and help support the fund.”
Tickets for the July 12 show (at The Improv Centre on Granville Island) are available online at vtsl.com.
