Gaining a New Perspective: Discussing Our City’s Past, Present and Future

Speakers share Vancouver’s stories and history at the Vancouver Lookout

To celebrate its 40th Anniversary, The Vancouver Lookout has partnered with Vancouver Heritage Foundation to present Perspectives: Talks & Discussions. This series will explore stories – surprising, thought provoking, and thrilling – that have shaped Vancouver over time.

Inspired by the rich history surrounding the Vancouver Lookout, Vancouver Heritage Foundation has arranged for five unique speakers to present on the diverse history of Vancouver.  From the unique vantage point offered by the Lookout, guests will enjoy fascinating talks on Indigenous stories and context, South Asian history and immigration, architectural development and change, Vancouver music scene and nightlife, and the city’s seedy criminal history.

The mix of daytime and evening events runs September through November.

Please plan to arrive at Harbour Centre at least 15 minutes before the posted start to allow time to take the elevator to the Lookout. Each talk will begin 15 minutes after the posted start time.
