Family Day is going to be here before we know it, and while there’s no shortage of daytime activities (Vancouver Aquarium included), why not get creative with evening plans as well? The Aquarium will be hosting a family sleepover on Sunday, Feb 11 called “PJs, Paws and Jaws.” Guests will learn about the fascinating ways that animals – such as seals or penguins – camouflage from their predators by paying a visit to see them outside. Later, they’ll head inside for an evening snack and then get hands on with cool artifacts like sea otter paws and shark jaws. Then everyone will call it a night and head down to Underwater Steller’s Bay to catch some z’s. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. followed by time to explore the galleries.
Our AquaCamps are also now open for registration for upcoming Pro-D days and Spring Break. Camps are a great way to have fun while learning about the oceans – it’s a mix of hands-on experiences, crafts and visting the galleries – that will keep kids (ages 4 – 12) engaged for the day or all week long. Drop-off begins at 8:45 am and the program runs from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm with the option to purchase extended pre camp hours (7:30 am to 9:00 am) and after camp hours (3:00 pm to 5:30 pm) upon registration.
