How do three generations holiday and tour together? Why in the 7 passenger Honda Odyssey of course. We loved our week spent enjoying the comfort of the Honda Odyssey. It worked great when we all wanted to go touring together in the Okanagan and on Vancouver Island.
Getting there was a breeze and we kept cool in air conditioned comfort. The Honda Odyssey handles well in heavy traffic while also easily navigating the city and also does great on the highway as we made our way towards Kelowna for a stay at the Quails’ Gate Winery guest house – The Lake House on beautiful Okanagan Lake.
When you travel with one four year old and one not quite one year old you can expect to make a few stops on the way. With temperatures hitting in the high 30’s we were glad we could just open up the doors and enjoy the shady surroundings of the highway rest stop. It was ideal for the children who appreciated a respite from their car seats. Did I mention the Honda Odyssey is highly rated among Child Passenger Safety Technicians? After a long day travelling back from the Okanagan, which included a trip by ferry to Vancouver Island, we appreciated the Bird’s Eye View of the Nest when we were driving at night. You can check on the kiddies anytime without leaving the security of your seat.
There was plenty of cargo space during the times that two adults and two children were travelling. Once we arrived on Vancouver Island we unpacked our suitcases, stroller, travel crib and box of diapers and we headed off to the beach. We even had room to take along a couple of pals.

We had just the best time driving and experiencing the luxury and comfort of the Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey was the perfect vehicle for our three generation travel. There was room for all six of us and room for our cargo as well. Admittedly, for the most part, we travelled with our floaty friends deflated but it was handy to be able to transport them fully assembled when we headed off to the beach. The Odyssey is so quiet the littles were asleep in no time when we hit the road after dark.
Travelling on the ferry can sometimes be a challenge but the Honda Odyssey met and exceeded our expectations when it came to maneouvering in tight spaces. We especially appreciated how convenient loading and unloading was with the wide open side doors.
Seating is spacious and oh so comfortable with lots of leg room for the tallest family member (6′ 2″). The radio and sound system were easy to use and the navigation system was simple to program and accurate. One of the features that most impressed and pleased us was the ability to see “the nest” without straining or getting out of our seats or seatbelts. A great safety feature.
The Honda Odyssey fits many lifestyles. We enjoyed using the Honda Odyssey as a family vehicle but it is also great for a couple who enjoy travel and cruising in comfort. Lots of cargo space and the most up-to-date convenient options and safety features make the Honda Odyssey a winner!
