BYO-BURGUNDY: ORIGO CLUB HOSTS AN EXCLUSIVE ‘PAULÉE’-STYLE DINNER SPOTLIGHTING BURGUNDIAN GRAND CRU WINES ON APRIL 5
Origo Club Convenes Gathering of Like-Minded Connoisseurs to Share Stories, Prized Burgundian Wines While Enjoying Multi-Course French-Inspired Feast
Richmond restaurant, café and art gallery Origo Club will give oenophiles a unique opportunity to showcase prized French vintages from their own cellars when it hosts an ultra-exclusive ‘Paulée’-styled Grand Cru Burgundy Dinner on Friday, April 5.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., each guest will bring a bottle of Grand Cru Burgundy to be shared among their fellow connoisseurs and break bread during a seven-course, French-inspired dinner prepared by Head Chef David Pan that includes such highlights as huîtres avec caviar et perlede kalamansi, homard à la crème de morilles avec beurre yuzu and filet mignon avec truffe, foie gras, épinards et pralines.
The event takes its cues from the traditional French ‘La Paulée de Meursault’ celebration that dates back to the 1920s and gathered vignerons, cellar and vineyard workers and the local community together to celebrate the end of the grape harvest at a banquet where winemakers would showcase their best bottle and compete for Burgundian bragging rights.
A select number of tickets to the intimate Paulée Grand Cru Burgundy dinner — which will feature such renowned French domaines as Armand Rousseau, Roulot, Méo-Camuzet and Romanée-Conti, among others — are available for $300 per person including tax, gratuity and transportation back to their own château.
