POQUITOS RAMPS UP THEIR WIND DOWN WITH THEIR FINAL FEW BRUNCHES. The classic line “we’re here for a good time, not a long time” rings true as the popular Latin American inspired cantina prepares for its final month. Nestled in the Fraser x Kingsway hub of Vancouver restaurant hot-spots, Poquitos opened their doors this past Fall as a pop-up venue to add a flair of fun and flavour to the community while the building awaits demolition for development.
Since it’s opening, Poquitos Comida & Cantina has been serving up a full flavour experience for weekend brunches, gaining a serious food following of regulars in the neighbourhood who are loving the departure from traditional breakfast in the city. A few of the menu fan-favourites are the Arepa Stack (a Colombian essential topped with diablo slaw, guac, eggs or avocado, and either chorizo or a vegan chorizo option) and the Gangster’s Cubano (a flat-top grilled baguette brimming with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, a sharp pickle and ghetto mustard).
With May 26th marking the end of the Poquitos era, the restaurant is wrapping up their weekend brunch at the end of this month to put full focus on the special events they have planned for their final weeks details to follow soon, so stay tuned!). Poquitos will be open for regular brunch service this coming Saturday, April 20th, closed for Easter Sunday and then the final weekend for brunch will be Saturday April 27th/ Sunday April 28th.
Reservations are accepted for brunch – and recommended as the cantina expects to see a lot of familiar faces for the final few sittings – by phone at 604.876.8704.
