Vista D’oro “Farm Box” Supports BC Hospitality Foundation

The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is pleased to announce that its charitable work is being supported by Langley’s Vista D’oro Farms & Winery. Throughout April & May 2020, $10 from every Vista D’oro Farm Box will be donated to the BCHF.

Like most businesses in the hospitality sector, Vista D’oro has been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Farmgate Shop and Tasting Room were closed in March, but Vista D’oro has created a new model to share its wines and preserves with customers despite isolation measures.

Beginning the week of April 6th consumers can order its first weekly Vista D’oro Farm Box pickup.

The Farm Box features
  • 3 x Vista D’oro estate grown wines
  • 3 x 220g jars of The Preservatory preserves,
  •  Edible items from local producers:
the first week’s box will include fresh greens from Vista D’oro’s neighbours,

Pinsch of Soil Farm.
For the duration of this offer, you can purchase a Farm Box for $100; normally priced at $115.85.
Husband and wife team Patrick and Lee Murphy own Vista D’oro and The Preservatory. Patrick notes that they “realize we’re in a fortunate position during this extraordinary time, and we want to give even this small amount of support to the BC Hospitality Foundation, as we know it makes a significant impact in the lives of the members of our food and beverage industry.” Lee adds that she and Patrick love what they do and felt they needed to help; she says she’s “happy to be supporting our farming community and neighbours.”
To make pickup convenient and to comply with social distancing requirements, Vista D’oro will be making the boxes available only as prepaid orders placed through its website. Prepared orders will be available at reserved times: orders will be placed on a bench so customers can retrieve them easily, or a staff member from the winery will load the box into the trunk of a customer’s vehicle using social distancing protocols. Pickups will take place on Saturdays from noon until 4:00pm.
Orders must be placed online by the Thursday evening before your preferred pickup date.

Throughout April & May $10 from each box sold will be donated to the BCHF, which is grateful for Vista D’oro’s generosity, as the charity receives no government funding and relies on support from within the hospitality industry to do its work.
