Vista D’oro “Farm Box” Supports BC Hospitality Foundation

The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is pleased to announce that its charitable work is being supported by Langley’s Vista D’oro Farms & Winery. Throughout April & May 2020, $10 from every Vista D’oro Farm Box will be donated to the BCHF.

Like most businesses in the hospitality sector, Vista D’oro has been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Farmgate Shop and Tasting Room were closed in March, but Vista D’oro has created a new model to share its wines and preserves with customers despite isolation measures.

Beginning the week of April 6th consumers can order its first weekly Vista D’oro Farm Box pickup.

The Farm Box features
  • 3 x Vista D’oro estate grown wines
  • 3 x 220g jars of The Preservatory preserves,
  •  Edible items from local producers:
the first week’s box will include fresh greens from Vista D’oro’s neighbours,

Pinsch of Soil Farm.
For the duration of this offer, you can purchase a Farm Box for $100; normally priced at $115.85.
Husband and wife team Patrick and Lee Murphy own Vista D’oro and The Preservatory. Patrick notes that they “realize we’re in a fortunate position during this extraordinary time, and we want to give even this small amount of support to the BC Hospitality Foundation, as we know it makes a significant impact in the lives of the members of our food and beverage industry.” Lee adds that she and Patrick love what they do and felt they needed to help; she says she’s “happy to be supporting our farming community and neighbours.”
To make pickup convenient and to comply with social distancing requirements, Vista D’oro will be making the boxes available only as prepaid orders placed through its website. Prepared orders will be available at reserved times: orders will be placed on a bench so customers can retrieve them easily, or a staff member from the winery will load the box into the trunk of a customer’s vehicle using social distancing protocols. Pickups will take place on Saturdays from noon until 4:00pm.
Orders must be placed online by the Thursday evening before your preferred pickup date.

Throughout April & May $10 from each box sold will be donated to the BCHF, which is grateful for Vista D’oro’s generosity, as the charity receives no government funding and relies on support from within the hospitality industry to do its work.

About Vista D’Oro Farms & Winery

Vista D’oro Farms & Winery is a culinary agritourism destination located in South Langley, BC on ten acres overlooking Campbell Valley Park and Golden Ears Mountain Range, just 45 minutes South of Vancouver. Dedicated to providing the ultimate agritourism experience, Vista D’oro Farms & Winery grows heritage orchard fruits and vinifera grapes, all of which can be found in the Farmgate Shop & Tasting Room in some form – whether it’s the winery’s flagship 2008 D’oro fortified walnut wine, a Preservatory creation of Plum with Vanilla and Star Anise Preserve, or our fresh-grown fruit right off the tree.

About The Preservatory

The Preservatory preserves, which are far from ordinary, take old favourites to new heights with original and creative flavour combinations. Different flavours are created for each season, highlighting the in-season locally grown fruit found at Vista D’oro and other farms throughout the province of BC.

About the BC Hospitality Foundation

The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is a registered charity that raises funds to support those in the hospitality industry facing financial crisis due to a medical issue. Each year hundreds of hospitality workers across BC face financial challenges and have nowhere else to turn. The BCHF helps them when all other options have been exhausted. In addition, the BCHF offers a scholarship program to foster the development of the next generation of hospitality workers and industry leaders.
