Bring your appetite to Nootka Sound Resort this summer
As we dream of travelling to new destinations in 2021, Nootka Marine Adventures is excited to share the news that its annual foodie affair is poised to resume in late summer this year.
The West Coast Culinary Adventure, presented by Nootka Marine Adventures, invites food and wine lovers to its annual retreat in August 2021. The 3-day event draws an intimate gathering of food lovers yearly at a luxury floating resort in Nootka Sound on Vancouver Island’s west coast. The 2021 event will be held over August 20-23 at Nootka Sound Resort.
Attendees will find an array of culinary delights prepared by renowned Chef William Lew (former Executive Chef for Ocean Wise and Notch8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver) including local seafood, foraged edibles and innovative dishes inspired by the Pacific Northwest.
Delectable multi-course dinners are expertly paired with fine wines and craft beers, curated by an onsite sommelier and cicerone, and will be served to cohort dining groups. Chef William Lew is experimenting with the menu for this year’s event. Sneak peaks at the delicious food offerings will be updated on the event website.
The wilderness retreat also features cooking demonstrations, live music and entertainment, wine and beer tastings, as well as a choice of activities for each guest, including spa treatments, guided fishing charters and eco-tours.
“Given the cancellation of our event in 2020, we’re looking forward to impressing our 2021 Culinary Adventure guests with even more entertainment and personal activity options,” said event organizer Kira Marshall. “Clearly-defined guidelines will be in place to ensure the health and well-being of all attendees. That’s our top priority.”
The floating Nootka Sound Resort is located a short boat ride away from land-based sister resort Moutcha Bay Resort. Its 25 comfortable rooms each have either a king bed or two twin beds and are equipped with plush robes and spectacular ocean views. All rooms have external access and contactless check-in for your peace of mind. Included in the event ticket price is a complimentary ground and boat shuttle from Courtenay or Campbell River.
Tickets for the West Coast Culinary Adventure are $3,499 per person, plus taxes, and include accommodation based on double occupancy at the floating wilderness resort, choice of two special activity options, and access to all event offerings, including plenty of fine food and drink. Tickets may be purchased online or over the phone with Nootka Marine Adventures’ guest services team.
COVID-19 – Nootka Marine Adventures has stringent onsite health and safety protocols in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Guest health and well-being will continue to be a priority in the upcoming season. Note that this event itinerary is subject to change depending on provincial health authority recommendations.
