The season’s social calendar is bursting with fun in Metro Vancouver’s most picturesque township – just a short drive from Vancouver.

This fall, Langley is hosting scores of seasonal activities that celebrate the best of the season and the region. And since Langley is only 45 minutes (or less) by vehicle from Vancouver, it’s the perfect day trip for families, couples and anyone seeking a change from the usual, in beautiful surroundings.

Pumpkin Patches

Aldor Acres

Eagle Acres
This pumpkin patch boasts 25 different varieties of pumpkins and gourds, plus hayrides, farm animals and more. Oct. 1–31 (excluding Oct. 4, 12, 18, 25), 2–5pm weekdays, 10am–5pm weekends and Thanksgiving Day. Starting from $10 per person; booking and info at eagleacres.ca/pumpkins

Loft Country

Harvest Tour at The Bog at Riverside Cranberry Farm
At Riverside Cranberry Farm, harvest season is a most picturesque time. Take in a self-guided tour, snap photos around Riverside’s cranberry bog, learn about cranberry farming, and bring home some freshly harvested cranberries and other goodies from the new onsite Farm Store. And if you like, venture right into the bog with the “Cranberry Plunge” (the farm provides the waders) – limited availability/capacity for this add-on. Sept 30–Oct 7, Thurs–Sat (hours vary by date). Grave Tales at the Fort Langley National Historic Site
A beloved Halloween tradition. Join the Fort’s expert storytellers as they share a two-hour or three-hour program of spine-chilling stories while you walk through the Fort Langley village under cover of night. Oct. 15–Nov 7 (Wed–Sun); hours vary by date: 6, 7, 8 and 9pm (all tours except 6pm are ages 18+). Tours in English only; one French tour will be held Oct. 27, 8pm. No tours on Oct. 31. Tickets ranging from $17 to $29 per person. Masks are mandatory for guests. Physical distancing is to be maintained at all times. Tours will be outdoors. Tickets available 10am to 5pm by calling 604.513.4824 or in person at the Fort Langley National Historic Site visitor centre.

Krause Berry Farms
In addition to finding the perfect pumpkin to take home from the market or ‘U-pick’ field, enjoy Krause’s delicious waffles (with seasonal toppings) at its walk-in waffle bar, featuring outdoor covered and garden seating. Hours: Wed–Sun, 9:30am–5pm. Info: krauseberryfarms.com

Harvest High Tea at Tracycakes Bakery Café
The Harvest High Tea has returned to Tracycakes CafĂ©. Until November 10, savour finger sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream and jam, seasonal “babycakes,” and more. $34 per person. Reservations recommended; call 604.427.1424 to reserve. Info: tracycakesonline.com

JD Farms Specialty Turkey
It’s turkey time, so be sure to stop by JD Farms Specialty Turkey for a delicious meal from the deli, or to pick up a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Open Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm; Sun, 10am–5pm.
