We know many of you are looking to support families and businesses in the Okanagan Valley
who have been affected by the wildfires.
Here are some ways to help:
Donate: The Canadian Red Cross and United Way are both accepting donations for programs that provide relief and support to areas in BC affected by wildfires. Donations will help provide cots, blankets, financial assistance for food, clothing and personal needs and mental health support.
Buy B.C.: So many wineries and small businesses have been affected, either by the wildfires directly or by the impacts of tourists staying away. When planning your week ahead, take a moment and buy products from B.C., whether it’s your favourite BC wine from a local store, or delicious treats from local B.C. businesses and brands. The businesses greatly appreciate your support.
Plan ahead: If you have travel plans around the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country region, plan ahead, stay informed, and call ahead to ensure that the businesses that you plan to visit are able to welcome you.
We continue to be incredibly grateful to firefighters across the Province for doing everything they can to protect our communities, businesses, families and homes.
