International Women’s Day Event – SUPERWOMAN SATURDAY!

Hello to all our incredible women of Oceanside!

We’re excited to announce that our Third Annual International Women’s Day Event will be held on Saturday March 8th! “Superwomen Saturday” will be hosted in partnership by the Qualicum Beach Cafe, Qualicum Beach Inn, Nanoose Bay Cafe, and Deez Bar and Grill. We’re thrilled to be sharing all the details with you first!

What began as a humble networking idea quickly blossomed into our ever-growing annual Women’s Day fundraising, mingling, and networking event. We welcomed more than 100 women to each of our first two events. Thanks to you, we’ve raised and donated more than we ever imagined for local charities! In our first year, you helped us raise over $1,800 for the Mamas for Mamas organization. Last year we surpassed expectations and raised over $5,300 for the Haven Society! We can’t help but get a little excited wondering what we’ll raise this year…

This year’s “Superwomen Saturday” charity of choice is the Society of Organized Services, specifically their programs assisting women, children, and families:

Since 1968, SOS (Society of Organized Services) has provided programs and services, most of them free to charge, to residents of District 69. Many of our program participants are low income women – moms, caregivers, seniors and other adults who benefit from connection with others, counselling referral, personal empowerment, emergency assistance, advocacy and access to local resources. For women and other residents, SOS provides a social safety-net on which they can rely during times of need.

Alright Superwomen, here are this year’s event details:

Entry to the event will be by donation at the door;

o A minimum donation of $10 will grant you a complimentary glass of bubbly

o A donation of $12 or more snag you complimentary bubbly and 1 Door Prize raffle Ticket • There will be Door Prizes to win as well as Silent Auction items to bid on throughout the night. • There will be roaming canapés and a bar provided; cash and card will be accepted at the bar. •

We welcome you to join us after the event at the Qualicum Beach Cafe for a meal or drinks! Reservations are strongly encouraged.

We’re now accepting Door Prize and Silent Auction donations! These donated prizes may range from small and sweet to big and bountiful – proceeds will go towards fundraising for our friends at SOS and the families they support! This event will be all about celebrating women and supporting our community, and we look forward to welcoming all women including mothers, professionals, and even young women like tweens, teens, and young adults. We’re designing it to be more than just a networking event; it’s a day of empowerment, connection, and fun for everyone.
