Okanagan Fest of Ale This Friday April 11 & Saturday, April 12th 2025
The Okanagan Fest of Ale returns this weekend April 11 & 12, 2025 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
Featuring beer, cider, tasty food, non-alcoholic options and live entertainment, and new this year – seltzer! The festival has something for everyone 19+.
“We are looking forward to the 28th Annual Okanagan Fest of Ale at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre to celebrate craft beer and cider from British Columbia this weekend. It will once again be an indoor/outdoor event with the Hopyard happening on the grassy area” said Michael Stocker, President of the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society.
“This is an incredible chance to support our 100% Canadian festival with every vendor making delicious food and beverage in BC and the Okanagan. We have an amazing line up of beer, cider and food vendors this year and will be once again welcoming brewers from all over the province to our beautiful city. A few breweries have started making seltzers and they will be showcasing that this year as well so there are a lot of options for people who do not drink beer.”
Giving Back
“And don’t forget that we give it all away at Fest of Ale! This part really sets us apart from other festivals. When you purchase a ticket to the Fest of Ale, all of the proceeds go to amazing local charities like the OSNS, Penticton Soupeteria and the Salvation Army. It truly is drinking beer for a good cause at the fest.”
There will be 50 brewers and cideries on site for a total of 150 beverages to taste. An awesome line-up of musicians and entertainers will be making sure everyone is having a great time. “Throughout the year, our volunteer board of directors work to put together a great schedule over the weekend and this year is no different. We will have live music in the Hopyard and inside, activities from HooDoo Adventures, photo booths, temporary tattoos from Amuzing Fun Rentals all while tasting some of the finest brews on the market.”
Awards
The Fest of Ale Beer Awards are now a BC Sanctioned event so the awards hold a certain prestige among the brewers “We have always tried to have a very professional and rigorous judging process for our awards and now we have the rubber stamp that puts us on the map for craft beer awards. Our judges come from all over the province and all have certifications that make them exceptional beer connoisseurs. Be sure to check out the awards for Best in Show at 3 on Saturday and 5 for the People’s Choice Awards – both happening on the main stage.”
Free Bus for Ticket Holders
To ensure public safety, the City of Penticton has offered to provide free bus service to all Fest of Ale ticket holders and volunteers. Just show your ticket over the weekend and ride the bus for free. “We are always looking for ways to promote a safe ride home for our festival goers and we are so thankful to the City of Penticton for supporting our festival in this way. If you aren’t taking the bus, be sure to plan your transportation in advance.” Again this year, the Fest of Ale will have few Non-Alcoholic beers to taste. “We will have non-alcoholic options offered by some of our food vendors on site as well, a few breweries are bringing some new and exciting non-alcohol beer and hop waters to try!”
The festival is supported by the local beer and hospitality industry with over 100 volunteers participating every year. “We are always so grateful for our wonderful partners, sponsors and volunteers who support the Fest of Ale. Operating as a not-for-profit, we try to save costs wherever we can and it truly takes a village. Thank you to everyone who pitches in and helps to make this festival a success every year!”
Tickets are going fast but still on sale. You can purchase at festofale.ca and get some shopping done for the beer lover in your life.
