Located just steps from several of downtown Kelowna’s most popular venues, Gather offers the perfect pre-show dining experience. Blending Italian and Korean influences, the restaurant presents a unique culinary adventure that’s both surprising and satisfying.
My wife and I dropped in for dinner before a concert, intrigued by the fusion concept. The evening began with a shared plate of hummus and olives—a generous portion ideal for two. While olives aren’t my go-to, my wife was delighted by the assortment, praising their flavour and variety. I focused on the accompanying grilled peppers, tomatoes, and ample toasted bread, which paired beautifully with the creamy hummus.
To accompany our meal, my wife chose a bold Argentinian Malbec, while I went with a crisp Chardonnay from southern France. Both selections complemented the food nicely, and the wine list, though compact, showed thoughtful curation.
For the main course, my wife selected the Korean Beef Tacos, which were both abundant and delicious. The combination of rich Korean seasoning with the handheld ease of tacos made for a fun, flavorful dish.
I ordered the Pasta Carbonara, a creative take on the Italian classic. Rich, hearty, and packed with umami, it offered a fresh interpretation that still felt comforting and familiar.
Our server, Thibault, was polished, attentive, and brought a touch of flair to the evening. Service was smooth and well-paced, with thoughtful details throughout—including the check delivered in a whimsical wooden treasure chest.
Gather is not your average night out. Expect bold flavours, inventive combinations, and portions that won’t leave you hungry. Bring a healthy appetite, an open mind, and prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
