August 26 tasting will bring Summerland wines and wine industry leaders to Vancouver, with Marquis matching all donations raised

Marquis Wine Cellars is bringing Vancouver’s wine community together in support of Summerland with a Summerland Fire Relief Fundraiser on Wednesday, August 26, from 4–6 p.m.

Hosted by Marquis Wine Cellars owner John Clerides, the public tasting will feature wines from Summerland alongside select Marquis Exclusives, with more participating wines and producers to be announced.

Admission is by a suggested $20 cash donation at the door, and Marquis will match the total amount raised. Featured wines will also be available for purchase at 10 per cent off, with snacks provided by Marquis.

The event is open to the public and media, offering an opportunity not only to support wildfire relief efforts, but also to connect with members of Summerland’s wine community.

Christine Coletta, co-founder of Haywire Winery, will attend in person and will be available to speak with media and guests about her experience during the Bald Range wildfire, its impact on the community and the growing #SummerlandStrong effort to support Summerland businesses and residents through recovery.

Peter Marshall of Sur Lie Imports will also be on hand pouring wines from Solvero Wines.

Wines from Summerland’s Pamplemousse Jus and Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards will also be poured, with additional participating wines to come.

Marquis Wine Cellars will match the total amount raised, effectively doubling the impact of donations made through the fundraiser.

Central Okanagan Food Bank
Paws It Forward Dog Rescue
