Kelowna International Film Festival Announced For October 2026
At Okanagan TV & Film Industry Forum
A major announcement from this weekend’s Okanagan TV & Film Industry Forum has set the stage for a landmark cultural event in British Columbia. Organizers revealed plans to launch the Kelowna International Film Festival (KIFF), scheduled to debut in October 2026, with a kickoff “One Year Out” celebration happening this October 18, 2025 in Kelowna.
The Kelowna International Film Festival is set to be a premier, week-long cinematic event designed to spotlight the Okanagan region on the global stage. Programming will include film screenings, industry workshops, expert panels, and a red carpet awards gala, offering both emerging and established creators a platform to connect with audiences and industry professionals alike.
“This is a natural next step for a region experiencing unprecedented growth in film and television production,” said Damon Gregory, one of the festival’s lead organizers. Gregory is joined by co-organizers Dalias Blake and Shannon Owens, with the support of Kelowna Film Studios owner James Alton and FanCon founder Norm Coyne—a powerhouse team committed to delivering a world-class festival experience.
The announcement was made during the Okanagan TV & Film Industry Forum, an annual platform dedicated to promoting, supporting, and developing the screen industry in the region. With its mission to foster collaboration and expand opportunity, the forum has become a vital hub for creatives and producers aiming to position the Okanagan as a top-tier destination for film and television production.
The October 2025 “One Year Out” event will offer a curated preview of what’s to come in 2026 and will be open to industry professionals and the public alike.
