Introducing Come Over October:
A new way to gather over wine in Canada

Fall is the season of gathering, from Thanksgiving dinners and Friendsgiving potlucks to game-day spreads. But for many, the idea of hosting can feel overwhelming – what to serve, how to set the mood, how to make it special. That’s where Come Over October comes in.

This October, Wine Growers Canada is bringing the award-winning international movement to Canada for the first time, encouraging people to raise a glass of wine and reconnect in person. To help make it simple, Come Over October provides entertaining tools and tips, including hosting guides, wine-and-food pairings, and easy ideas to take the stress out of gathering.

Arterra Wines Canada is proudly championing this movement nationwide, helping Canadians make wine part of meaningful, stress-free moments of connection.

“We’re thrilled Arterra Wines Canada has joined the Come Over October campaign,” said Karen MacNeil, co-founder of the international Come Over October movement.

“Because so much of what we experience today happens online, it’s deeply meaningful to actually come together over a shared wine. In fact, wine has been connecting people in friendship for 8,000 years. We believe that in sharing wine, we also share what truly matters – caring, generosity, and meaningful conversation.”

And the timing couldn’t be better. With 78 per cent of wine servings in Canada happening at home and 81 per cent paired with food*, gatherings are already the heart of wine culture. And younger consumers (19-34) are redefining the experience, with 45 per cent choosing to consume wine in group settings while 36 per cent save it for special occasions.**

Whether it’s a bold red for turkey, a crisp white for potluck spreads, or a sparkling bottle to kick things off, Arterra’s portfolio offers the perfect wine at every price point, making hosting easy and every gathering one to savour.
