the Bone & Biscuit Co. Launches “Paws for a Cause”
During Mental Health Month to Support CMHA Initiatives
National campaign highlights the connection between pets
and mental well-being while raising funds for the
Canadian Mental Health Association
the Bone & Biscuit Co. today launches Paws for a Cause, a national campaign in support of Mental Health Month this May, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
Rooted in the powerful connection between pets and emotional well-being, Paws for a Cause brings together pet parents and communities across Canada to raise awareness and funds for mental health programs and services. The campaign is now live across participating the Bone & Biscuit Co. locations nationwide and online.
Paws for a Cause is a community-driven initiative that connects pet ownership with
broader conversations around mental health and emotional well-being during Mental Health Month. As a national campaign supported by franchise locations across Canada, it brings together storytelling, retail engagement, and education to highlight the role pets play in reducing stress, increasing connection, and supporting everyday mental wellness.
Throughout the month of May, customers can support CMHA through donations made in-store at checkout or online via a dedicated campaign microsite.
“Pets play a meaningful role in our everyday lives – offering companionship, routine, and emotional support,” said Chris Pollock, Manager, Brand Strategy & Marketing at the Bone & Biscuit Co. “With Paws for a Cause, we’re creating an opportunity for our communities to come together, give back, and recognize the important connection between pet ownership and mental wellness.”
“Research continues to show just how much pets can support our mental health and well-being,” said Marion Cooper, President and Lead Executive Officer at CMHA National. “They can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage us to be more active, and even create moments of connection with others. We’re proud to partner on Paws for a Cause to help raise awareness and support mental health initiatives across Canada.”
In addition to fundraising, the campaign will be supported through in-store
engagement at participating the Bone & Biscuit Co. locations nationwide. Customers
will have opportunities to explore partner products, including Smack Pet Food, ACANA, FirstMate Pet Foods, and Buddie Pet Therapy, engage with partner products, and participate in campaign touchpoints designed to encourage awareness and support for mental health initiatives.
“At its core, this campaign is about connection,” added Pollock. “Connection to our
pets, to each other, and to the neighbourhoods we’re proud to be part of.”
Paws for a Cause will run throughout May at participating the Bone & Biscuit Co.
locations across Canada. For more information or to support the campaign, visit:
