Celebrate one of Vancouver’s most vibrant
and diverse communities.
From July 10 (opening night concert) through July 12, Carnaval del Sol, the largest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest, returns to Jonathan Rogers Park. Presented by Latincouver, the three-day event will bring together thousands of attendees and more than 350 artists, performers and community leaders in a celebration of Latin American culture, food, music, art and sport.
This year’s theme, “Play Loud, Celebrate Proud — Together We Are Stronger,” highlights the energy and cultural pride of Latin communities while inviting people from all backgrounds to experience the traditions, flavours and rhythms of Latin America.
• The festival’s growth into one of Canada’s leading Latin cultural celebrations, now entering its 18th year.
• The first-ever Vancouver performance by iconic Mexican band El Gran Silencio, headlining Opening Night on July 10 as part of their 30th anniversary tour.
• International acts including Villa Cariño (Chile) and Fulanito (Dominican Republic/USA).
• Indigenous cultural exchange through ceremonies from Latin America and Canada, along with a pre-Hispanic Juego de Pelota experience at the Native Plaza.
Festival highlights include:
• More than 350 artists and performers.
• Opening Night concert featuring El Gran Silencio (July 10).
• Latin American Parade (July 12).
• Live music, dance, art, sports, gastronomy and family programming.
