$350,000 Hospital Grant and Inspiring Handprint Ceremony

The Handprint Ceremony, the starting centre of the Hyundai Hope on Wheels campaign, continues its western road swing in Vancouver — it’s fifth stop in a tour that will take it across the country — with the announcement of a $100,000 grant, and an additional $250,000 donated in partnership with the C17 Council.
During the ceremony, children who have faced cancer leave their handprints on a Hyundai vehicle, creating a colourful tribute to their journeys and the incredible strength they demonstrate every day. Together, these handprints transform the vehicle into a moving symbol of hope, resilience and a shared commitment to ending childhood cancer.
In Vancouver, Bedard will be joined by seven-year-old identical twins Weston and Bennett Openshaw, affectionately known as the “Twincredibles.” Diagnosed with different forms of lymphoblastic leukemia within four months of each other, the brothers were treated simultaneously at BC Children’s Hospital and will take part in the Handprint Ceremony alongside their mother, Alisha.
