After teasing followers on social media with the sneak peeks of the label under development, the wait is over.
Okanagan Crush Pad announces its 9th Wine Campus project, this time, a collaboration with Matthew Landry.
Wine Campus, created in 2011 by Okanagan Crush Pad (OCP), is a mentorship program that provides selected Vancouver sommeliers with the unique chance to make a small lot wine using the grape variety and style of wine they wish. The proceeds from the sale of the wine are given to charity. Landry is a CMS-Certified sommelier, winner of British Columbia’s Best Sommelier 2019, the wine director of the Stable Hospitality Group, and the general manager of Fiore Restaurant in South Granville.
With Okanagan Crush Pad’s chief winemaker Matt Dumayne, Landry has created Pet Matt Landrusco, which hits the market January 20, 2020.
Pet Matt Landrusco 2019, a sparkling wine made in the pétillant naturel style from 100% Touriga Nacional, was harvested on September 12, 2019, fermented in concrete tanks, bottled on September 24 for final fermentation, and disgorged on December 18 with no dosage added.
The result is a sparkling wine with dominant berry fruits, a lush creamy palate, fresh acidity with lovely salinity.
The label, inspired by an old photograph of Landry, sports a sketch of Landry in high-haired glory, and this image has his cohorts in the trade buzzing.
With the package being unveiled and the release happening now, his peers are asking when and where can they taste this wine.
This wine is allocated and will not be sold on the Okanagan Crush Pad web store.
One thousand bottles are available for sale commencing January 20, 2020.
The price per bottle is $39.90 plus taxes and the wine is packaged in six bottle cases.

This year, Okanagan Crush Pad, through Wine Campus, will donate $5,000 to the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support innovative health care at the Dr. Peter Centre in Metro Vancouver. The Dr. Peter Centre is British Columbia’s only HIV day health program and 24-hour nursing care residence. The only program of its kind in Canada, the Dr. Peter Centre is a leader in HIV care, particularly for individuals with multiple medical conditions and social barriers.
Okanagan Crush Pad is a unique purpose-built custom crush winery that specializes in small lot, terroir expressive wines. From its ponderosa-surrounded location in beautiful Summerland, BC, OCP is home to Haywire, Narrative, and Free Form wines. Owners Christine Coletta and Steve Lornie have amassed a talented team that is focused on organic viticulture and low intervention winemaking with Matt Dumayne at the helm of the winemaking team.
