The May YVR Foodies event will be at the elegant Seventeen89 in Downtown Vancouver.
The May event is going to be their best one yet with a jam-packed event full of inspiring speakers, engaging performers, and of course some delicious food at Seventeen89. Co-owner and Chef Daryle Nagata will be sharing his experiences around the world before opening up his own restaurant in Downtown Vancouver.
Keynote speaker is Celina Archambault from Language of Foods, featured bloggers Wendy Lai and Hitman Howdy from Eat ‘n About, and performers for this month are Joseph Jace and Rajdeep Sekhon.

Chef Daryle Nagata – Seventeen89 Co-owner & Head Chef
Chef Daryle has been at the forefront in Supporting & Developing Canada’s Regional Bounty for over 30 years. He has worked as a chef around the world at some of the world’s most famous franchise hotels before partnering with long-time fisherman and friend Paul Puratich to open up Seventeen89 in the West End of Downtown Vancouver. Chef Daryl will be sharing his experiences opening up a restaurant as well as his 30 years of chef experience around the world.
Celina Archambault – Keynote Speaker
Celina received her certification in Holistic Nutrition at Canada’s School of Holistic Nutrition. She works as a registered holistic nutritionist, food intuitive, and chef to provide her clients with the knowledge of what foods to consume and how to keep the foods they buy as nutritious as possible. Celina’s passion is to get people excited about cooking new foods and help people find ways to fit healthy eating into our modern lifestyle. Celina likes to focus on what you CAN eat. At YVR Foodies, Celina will be sharing “How to eat Healthy while having a Busy Lifestyle.”

Wendy Lai & Hitman Howdy – Featured Food Bloggers
Wendy and Hitman are the owners and operators of Eat’n About, which is one of Vancouver’s longest running food blogs. Eat ‘n About has been providing unbiased reviews of British Columbia (and other areas) restaurants since 2007. Eat ‘n About also offers recipes, food product and grocery reviews, and food related travel articles. Wendy and Hitman also hope that their divergent backgrounds (she’s Cantonese, he’s Caucasian) and tastes bring their readers different and unique perspectives on the Vancouver dining scene and food in general.

Joseph Jace – Performer
Joseph found his passion for RnB & Hip Hop when he was 16 years old living in Toronto, Canada. His inspirations include Tupac, Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., DMX, Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Ice Cube with his personal favourite being Marshall Bruce Mathers III. The idea of some day becoming a profound writer and lyricist, Joseph Jace is described as an old school, with a new age flare type mc; a technically diverse lyricist who brings the crowd with him on every track he performs. Joseph Jace thinks of hip-hop as his outlet for lyrical therapeutic release.

Rajdeep Sekhon – Performer
Rajdeep developed a passion for singing at the age of 11 yrs old and hasn’t looked back. Rajdeep was awarded ” Best Singer ” at the All India Music Competition as well as “Best Singer in Hindi” in BC. His songs have been played on the Canadian Rang TV Show. Next month, Rajdeep will be releasing a Punjabi Video with Canadian male & female models. Rajeep works in the Insurance field and is a TV Host on ATN Hindi TV Channel’s Show “Canadian Rang.”
