Tourism Victoria is pleased to announce the BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) as its first official charitable partner. Tourism Victoria will provide access to various marketing channels and work with the Foundation to find new and innovative ways to enhance its profile within the hospitality industry.
“Tourism Victoria is proud to be working with the BC Hospitality Foundation as our first official charitable partner,” says Paul Nursey, President & CEO of Tourism Victoria. “We are excited to support an organization so deeply involved in our industry and look forward to promoting their efforts while spreading the word about the important work they do.”
The BCHF offers assistance to individuals within the hospitality community who are coping with financial crises arising from health or medical conditions. Tourism is responsible for an estimated 22,000 jobs in Greater Victoria and Tourism Victoria’s partnership with the BC HF signals support to those in the community who dedicate themselves to the hospitality industry.
“The BC Hospitality Foundation has helped more than 15 beneficiaries in Greater Victoria over the past three years with more than $110,000 in support,” says Alan Sacks, Executive Director of the BCHF. “The fact we are now partnering with Tourism Victoria will help us to achieve our goals of helping more people on Vancouver Island than ever before.”
Destination marketing is Tourism Victoria’s core business and the organization’s mandate is to inspire the world to experience our destination. In the last three years Tourism Victoria has won ten awards provincially, regionally, nationally and internationally, and the organization was recently named Marketer of the Year by the BC chapter of the American Marketing Association.
