BC Wine Institute (BCWI) pairs up with Mink Chocolates for an unprecedented Valentine’s celebration across British Columbia this month. 15 BC Liquor Stores in Burnaby, Langley, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Sidney, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria, West Vancouver and Whistler will each feature three BC VQA wines at in-store tastings over the three days leading up to, and including, Valentine’s Day. As if that wasn’t reason enough for a special store visit, Mink Chocolates is giving away individually wrapped dark chocolate squares to all guests who participate in these tastings.
Wine and chocolate are the classic gifts for any happy Valentine’s Day and there are no more worthy representatives of these gifts than delicious BC VQA wines and decadent Mink Chocolates. Each consumer that visits a tasting booth will be led through a custom sampling of three top-quality wines from BC’s Okanagan Valley by knowledgeable BC Liquor Store tasting staff. After experiencing a virtual tour through the province’s most recognized wine region, each participant will leave with a luxurious gift of Mink Chocolate.
BC VQA (Vintner’s Quality Alliance), celebrating its 25th anniversary, is the appellation of origin and quality standard for the Wines of British Columbia. Established in 1990, BC VQA certified wines must meet specific standards with respect to origin, vintage and grape varieties. These wines are also tasted by a qualified panel for quality characteristics prior to being able to use the BC VQA designation. To put it simply, when you see ‘BC VQA’ on your bottle, it means that you are sipping on a quality wine that is 100% from British Columbia.
Mink’s bittersweet dark chocolate squares are 72% cacao, originating from Ghana and the Ivory Coast. Each chocolate is conveniently wrapped for immediate or later indulgence.
Everyone loves wine and chocolate, and isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is all about? Love!
