Forget Cupid’s Arrow: This Valentine’s Day, L’Abattoir Sets the Stage for Love
L’Abattoir screams romance no matter what the date, but now that Cupid is flying into town the restaurant is pulling out all the stops. For lovebirds keen to impress that special someone – first date, lifelong marriage and every experience in-between – L’Abattoir’s Valentine’s Day menu is seductive decadence at its finest.
On February 14, L’Abattoir will dish up a four-course dinner with wine pairings in its sleek private dining room – tucked into a cobblestoned square just behind the main restaurant – featuring Executive Chef Lee Cooper’s French-inspired classics along with brand-new additions that are sure to surprise and delight.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a cocktail crafted by Bar Manager Thor Paulson. Dinner begins with baked Pacific oyster and black truffle, followed by a lightly smoked duck breast enhanced by blood orange, carrot and chicory. Then, a choice between 48-hour braised short rib with salsa verde or baked fillet of ling cod accompanied by clams, crispy pork and fennel – all paired with carefully selected wines. Afterward, lovers can melt into each other’s eyes while sharing a black forest gateaux for two and a selection of mignardises (petit fours).
Unattached? Not to worry – you won’t find pink confetti or gaudy balloons here. The restaurant’s sultry space is dim, cozy and enclosed by natural wood and historic brick-and-beam – equally suited to cuddling up with a lover or kicking back with friends. Whatever your pleasure, Valentine’s Day at L’Abattoir is guaranteed to transform your night into a sophisticated and satisfying culinary adventure.
L’Abattoir’s Valentine’s Day dinner takes place on February 14 at 7pm. Tickets are $145 per person, inclusive of tax and wine pairings (plus 18% gratuity) and must be booked in advance. To reserve a table, please call 604-568-1701 or email bronwen@nulllabattoir.ca.
