PRIVATE BOUTIQUE TRAINING STUDIO
Fitness that Fits You
There is a common misconception with fitness that is so overwhelming, no wonder we think of a million excuses not to start.
Exercising means seven days of 5-AM pre-work fasting cardio, followed by an evening strength program at the gym or fitness class. It needs to be HARD and you need to be exhausted or you’re not working hard enough. ‘No Pain, No Gain’.
You need to sacrifice and commit to eating only 6-ounces of white meat and salad everyday and absolutely no carbs or sweets or you won’t be successful. While this may be fine if you’re competing in an elite competition, this is not sustainable for the long term.
The programs we offer are not those typical of a ‘big box’ gym or even hiring a private trainer. We offer a complete lifestyle program that fits your life, and as a result, changes it.
A lifestyle program includes both your physical and emotional fitness. Its about meeting you where you are, and leading you forward.
Inside of the Studio is your time, which we know is valuable. Your session is completely private (there is no one else in the room) giving you the well deserved undivided attention of your trainer. We teach you how to use the equipment properly and build your gym confidence.
Our programs are designed specifically to you as an individual and set up so that you succeed. We truly care about each person that comes through our door. We are there for you to teach, to listen and to support you along your journey and that is something we pride ourselves on.
In order to maintain these high standards of service, we have incorporated Trainerize into our training program. This program extends that support outside of the studio. We keep you accountable by being available to you when you need us. Imagine you’re at the gym and are confused about a certain machine. Within the training app are ‘how to’ videos to help you out and If you’re still unsure, we are available right then and there to talk you through it. This support gives you full autonomy and confidence over your program. Once you have confidence, there is nothing to fear in the gym.
As you start experiencing the benefits of exercise your entire biochemistry begins to change. Our bodies were designed to move, to be challenged and are directly correlated to how we feel. Tony Robbins said it best, “motion creates emotion”. If you are physically active in a way that is sustainable you will have an incredibly hard time being depressed or sluggish. That is how we change your emotional fitness. You will begin to feel better, look better, eat better, have more energy and be more present in your everyday life, that is our promise to you.
Our mission is to change lives, one person at a time. You can read more about the whole concept on http://www.jennuwinfitness.ca/
ABOUT
Jenn Saunders-BCRPA Certified Professional
Growing up, I never felt like I fit in. The feeling of being on the outside of everyone else caused me to become quite shy and self-conscious. My self esteem was low and I was unhappy.
That was until I took my first drink; alcohol allowed me to speak my mind, be brave and be the life of the party. For a long time alcohol was my friend, confidence and courage.
That was until I hit ‘rock bottom’. I knew if I continued along this path any longer, it would cost me my life.
Instead, I chose to reclaim my life and reached out for help, that is when the change in me began.
I felt that I had so much more time; time that I would have spent partying or at the bar, and I had no clue what to do with all of it. I had to focus my energy somewhere and so I turned to the gym. This was the beginning of a great relationship.
Fitness quickly became my friend and allowed me to possess my own confidence and courage. For the first time in my life, I truly felt alive.
My healthy lifestyle has given me so much. I can honestly say, that fitness in particular saved my life. It put me on the path of self-love, self work and internal healing.
The positive influence that it gave me in my own life is why I became a Personal Trainer. I am excited to share my love and knowledge of fitness with the world. I am grateful to be in a position to help others become the best versions of themselves.
I know that a healthy lifestyle is the key ingredient to an amazing life. It really works, and I am living proof of that.

Becoming a Fitness Professional is not something I just fell into; teaching people how to live a healthy lifestyle is my passion because it saved my life.
In my early teens I was diagnosed with clinical depression after my first attempted suicide. It was a very scary place to be and rather than working through it, well meaning doctors prescribed me a handful of medication to fix the problem.
I very quickly became overweight, a common side effect of mood stabilizing pharmaceuticals. This made losing the weight seemingly impossible and took me even further away from the underlying problem that had put me on the medication in the first place.
I yo-yo dieted, binged and purged or just starved myself and ironically what was meant to alleviate the depression, ended up just numbing my emotions completely. In my early twenties, I successfully came off all of my medications, which allowed me to finally feel again. Unfortunately, I was still dealing with depression on top of the disordered eating. Somewhere along the way, I lost the ‘Spark’ that made me, me.
I had a hard time maintaining my weight and opted for a lifestyle diet of cigarettes and caffeine to stay thin. In other words, I was slowly killing myself.
I needed a good jolt to break me out of my self-destructive behavior, and thankfully it came. I was involved in an accident that left me physically limited. The next 6-months I spent rehabilitating my body, and I couldn’t do that without working on my emotional fitness.
I believe how we feel about ourselves is directly related to our physical bodies. Learning to connect the two was the scariest and most freeing experience of my life.
Over the years I’ve learned to meditate and journal, I’ve received counselling and did a lot of self work to begin to learn how to love myself. Who knew that the key to happiness was self-love and self-acceptance?
In the beginning I was too self conscious to go to the gym, so I created a space in my home to work out. This was a complete game changer. It didn’t happen overnight, but once I made fitness a habit rather than a chore, I can honestly say for the first time in a long time I was genuinely happy.
Fitness is honestly the best anti-depressant you could ever take! My entire attitude changed. I became strong, fit and healthy.
This is why I became a personal trainer. My passion is to change lives through fitness; because I know first hand how amazing it truly is on the other side.
