Beaucoup Bakery & Café celebrates the arrival of summer with several new additions to its menu, including three new pastries and a refreshing beverage: Strawberry Mille-Feuille, Matcha Raspberry Tart, Butter Shoyu Roasted Corn Tarte, and a Rhubarb Iced Tea.
“We really wanted to highlight berries in our summer menu this year and strawberries and raspberries are certainly very vibrant, tart, and sweet for the season,” explains Betty Hung, co-owner and head pastry chef of Beaucoup Bakery. “These are full-flavoured yet delicate and light pastries that really hold up to the warmer weather. And, our corn tarte is not too heavy for lunch or a snack. And of course, we will be using local berries and corn for as long as we can.”
The pretty-in-pink Strawberry Mille-Feuille ($6.50 each) is composed of house-made puff pastry, strawberry diplomat cream, strawberry gelée, and fresh strawberries on top.
Customers who order the Matcha Raspberry Tart ($5.50 each) can expect to enjoy a striking pastry creation featuring a matcha pastry base, dacquoise, crème pâtissière, raspberry gelée, and piled high with fresh raspberries.
Beaucoup Bakery’s new savoury item is a Butter Shoyu Roasted Corn Tarte ($4.95 each), made of roasted corn, onions, shimeji mushrooms, and finished with a basil cherry tomato salad.
The Rhubarb Iced Tea ($3.95), with ginger rhubarb syrup, organic black Ceylon tea, rose petals, lavender, and cornflowers is refreshing for summer.
