“It’s been interesting to see how the Nifty for Fifty designers have evolved over 11 years of events,” says event producer and Adhesif Clothing designer Melissa Ferreira. “This year we see a real increase in participating local designers featuring upcycled garments and jewelry created from leather, vintage textiles like slips to sweaters to salvaged materials and factory fabric roll ends.  It says a lot about what many of our local designers are inspired by and reflects a growing global trend in the realm of sustainable design.”

About Nifty for Fifty:

Melissa Ferreira, owner and designer, Adhesif Clothing — www.adhesifclothing.com — saw an opportunity to bring independent Lower Mainland fashion designers, artists and jewellers together to offer a large, one day group blowout sale to local shoppers.   The annual event, which started out with 12 designers in 2007, has now grown to 31 sellers with over 3,000 shoppers attending this one day sale.  2018 is the 11th anniversary of this ever-popular local fashion event.
